We had our second summer breakfast this past Sunday...
and it was well attended. The 8 o’clock bunch outnumbered the 10 o’clock group but I am just guessing as I did not count. Did not have time as we were short handed in the kitchen. No one left hungry and I suspect some of the 10 o’clock group slept during Church. They ate seconds and 1/2 gallons of sausage gravy, 12 dozen eggs, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes and blueberries. We also had something new this Sunday, fried green tomatoes. And I am sorry we ran out, but I will not let that happen again. I am not sure how many biscuits we cooked but we only had a little over a dozen left and I suspect we would not have had that if we’d had more gravy. Did you miss this wonderful gathering? The fellowship that was a great part of the morning makes the effort worth it. We could use a couple more people to help so if you are so moved to hold your hand up, call Braden Paul or Ray Sledge and they will see to it you get you chance to help.
I want to remind all of you that these breakfasts are held on the second and forth Sunday of each month during the summer. It would seem to me to be an ideal time to bring a friend, neighbor or co-worker to church with you. You can feed them a good meal, let them get to know a lot of people who are there and still go to Church when it’s over. I would think it is a perfect time to evangelize and all you have to do is ask someone to come with you. We will feed them and I am sure the people there will engage them in conversation and make them feel at home. The next breakfast is three weeks from last Sunday so you have plenty of time to work on it and get someone lined up to come with you.
SEE YOU THERE!
