Sunday was a busy day with a lot going on at the Church.

It was our first fellowship breakfast of the summer and I would call it a success, at least in the fellowship area. I would have preferred a few more people to feed but it is vacation time and there were several meetings going on at the same time.  That may be just a sign of the times, like four dollar plus per gallon for gas. How many of us that have complained about the price of gas have changed our driving habits? Do we plan our trips, do we slow down to 50-55 mph or do we just cry louder? We have to take some kind of action to offset the cost of gasoline. Are we doing that or are we leaving that to someone else? I think I have my plan worked out. My tomato crop is starting to produce and with all the concern about people getting sick from tomatoes bought in stores, I think I will start selling tomatoes from my garden at something like four dollars per pound or more. A true tomato lover would pay that or more to have their tomatoes and not worry about getting sick from them. Some of my tomatoes are over half a pound each and one vine has twenty five of those large babies on it right now. With fifty-five vines planted I should come out very well.

Sunday meetings are a necessary thing these days as a way to cut the cost of coming back to a meeting later in the week. It may also help Church attendance. I do know it makes Sundays very busy and leaves little time for fellowship with our Church family.  That is something for the Vestry to look at and decide what is best, but they will not know what you think if you do not tell them. It is your duty to make your Vestry members aware of your concerns and what you think might help in solving them.
