We are a group of "younger" Episopalians who come together as a family (hence, the name) to serve God and our church through social and service activities. Formed in July of 2006, we include a variety of adults (single, married, with and without kids) working together to renew and expand our Parish.

Some of our activities and accomplishments include:

• The design and construction of the new playground
• the organization of the Halloween Spectacular! festival
• Monthly lunch meetings in the Parish Hall
• Helping out other organizations in our church
• "Dinner in December", our group Christmas party and Toys for Tots drive
• Occasional get-togethers outside of the church for a variety of activities including bowling, a day on the lake, pool parties, bar-b-q's, paintball, and others...

As one of the newer groups at St. Matthias we are eager to increase the fun and fellowship in our group. That means we want YOU to come try it out! All of our activities have an open invitation attached. Please feel free to join us anytime!

Young at Heart is a ministry for those 50 and above who enjoy sharing Christian fellowship. Many are unable to get out at night so our ministry is held during the day at the St. Matthias Parish Hall on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Our first meeting was held to see if there was a need for this ministry. Indeed, there was! We have a great support group which consists of God, Clergy, Vestry, Parishioners, and Friends. All are welcome. The only requirement is to be "Young@Heart".

We have Bingo on the first Thursday of each month and, of course, prizes for the winners. Lunch is provided that day (snacks may be brought). We have "Game Day" on the third Thursday of the month when whe play Bingo, Pokeno, Scrabble, or your choice of other games. Please bring a sack lunch for the third Thursday fellowship. Of course, if you have a "Senior Moment" and forget to bring a lunch, not to worry, there is always plenty of food and drink.
